Walmart Childcare
Bentonville, AR
The Walmart Childcare project was constructed at the new Walmart corporate campus in Bentonville, Arkansas, as an affordable onsite childcare center for infant through pre-K children. The facility will be operated by Bright Horizons. The facility consisted of two single-story buildings totaling approximately 73,000 SF with a capacity of 500 children, which was the greatest capacity for a childcare center of its type in Northwest Arkansas at the time of construction. The buildings were oriented in opposing L-shaped areas that resulted in a semi-enclosed courtyard area. The building enclosure consisted of glass and aluminum curtain wall and/or storefront glazing systems; brick veneer masonry, fiber-cement siding, metal wall panels over insulation, air barrier, and sheathing; and low-slope membrane roofing. SEAL’s services for this project consisted of design review from design development to Construction Documents and Construction Administration, which included shop drawing and submittal review, as well as periodic site observations.
